Turkey's official language is Turkish. 99% of the turkey population is Muslim. Although most of the population is Muslim, Turkey has the freedom of religion and beliefs. The music that they listen is a divided into two parts, Classical Turkish music and folk music. They were split because in the 11th century the Seljuk Turks spanned their kingdom by including Anatolia and Persia. Turkey's national sport is Soccer. They also golf, hunt and like climbing. Turkey has many bodies of water, the Black Sea, so sailing, scuba diving, rafting, canoeing, kite boarding, and fishing are popular activities there. Turkey celebrates Victory Day (Victory over invading forces in 1922) which is similar to the United States Independence Day. They also celebrate Republic Day which commemorates October 29, 1923, when Mustafa Kemal declared that Turkey would be a republic. Turkey has great food which ranges from soups such as lentil or tomato soup, Gozleme, a layered pastry filled with a variety of fillings and Pide, a thin crust of pastry with toppings.
